====== Getting Started Guide ======

New to the server? Here's how to get started:

===== Connect to the Server =====

Launch Minecraft (Java Edition 1.21.8) and click on "Multiplayer". Add a new server with the address ''vanilla.dekatater.com'' and connect.

===== Read the Book =====

Once you join, take a moment to read the info book in your inventory. You'll get some important information there.

===== Explore Spawn =====

Spawn features an admin marketplace, player's artworks, a public enchanting table and more. Take some time to explore before venturing out.

===== Find a Place to Build =====

Travel at least 500 blocks from spawn or use ''/rtp'' to find a suitable location for your base. Remember to respect existing builds and maintain appropriate distance.

===== Claim Your Land =====

Use the [[plugins:griefprevention|GriefPrevention]] plugin to protect your builds. Create a claim by using a gold shovel to mark diagonal corners of your property. Use ''/kit Claim'' to get a shovel.

Your first placed chest will also create a claim around it.

===== Set Your Home =====

Once you've established your base, set it as your home with the command ''/sethome'' so you can easily teleport back using `/home`.

===== Say Hi! =====

Introduce yourself in the chat and consider joining our Discord server to connect with other players and stay updated on server events. Get the Discord link with ''/discord''
